Our team at The Grubstreet Author are able to help enhance your awards event by sourcing and managing entertainment, creating a theme and additional decoration on behalf of the organiser, and making sure your winners, nominees and attendees all feel like VIPs.

Throughout your event experience at The Grubstreet Author you will have one single point of contact until we hand over to a team of operational specialists on the day. This makes hosting your event as stress free as it can possibly be.


For the team at The Grubstreet Author, food is a passion reflected in the plates of our imaginative and delicious cuisine. Catered by the same highly-regarded chefs as The Brewery, menus are crafted using the finest seasonal ingredients with dishes that demand attention and delight the palate.

Food is tailored to events with elaborate tasting menus for private dining, delectable à la carte menus for awards and lunches, and intricate canapes for cocktail receptions and parties. Wines are selected using a mixture of sommeliers who carefully match their choices to compliment the food on offer.

Cocktails, which can be served from the decadent copper bar, add a touch of sophistication to proceedings.


All of our rooms are equipped with a built in DAD PA system, coloured LED lighting and electronic signage included in the hire of the space. High speed complimentary Wi-Fi is also available in all rooms with the capability of 1100mb both up and down.

If the event requires a more complex audio-visual solution, then incumbent supplier AVC Live are ready to assist. AVC Live are a full-service audio-visual supplier and are able to cater for all needs including equipment hire, branding, recording and web casts with full technical support.

All spaces are supplied with fully customisable electronic signage which can be used to display event branding.


The location of The Grubstreet Author makes finding it completely stress-free, even for a new visitor to London.

There are multiple tube lines that service the area, as well as bus routes on the doorstep and Santander cycle stations nearby.


Awards Venue FAQs

How many people can I invite to my awards ceremony at The Grubstreet Author?

Each of our venue rooms at The Grubstreet Author has a different capacity, so the number of people you invite will be dependent on which room/rooms you choose to hire for your event.

The Sample Room can accommodate 50 people for a lunch or dinner event, and 70 for a standing reception event. The Cutting Room will be able to fit 48 in the cinema theatre itself, and 50 in the reception area attached. The Pasteur Room will fit 65 people in theatre style, 66 if you’re having a lunch or dinner, 70-160 for a standing reception, depending on if you’re including The Sample Room, and 45 for a cabaret-style event.

How can we have the room laid out for our awards ceremony?

There are several ways that our venue rooms can be laid out, depending both on your event’s purpose and requirements, and how many and which of our rooms you are using. Our venue spaces can be used in conjunction with each other – The Pasteur Room and The Sample Room can be combined to create a larger reception space with a bar should you wish.

All our venue rooms can be laid out as either reception style or theatre style spaces. The Pasteur Room and Sample Room can be laid out in a lunch or dinner style, and The Pasteur Room alone can be laid out in a cabaret-style. You truly are spoilt for choice.

What event facilities and equipment are there?

At The Grubstreet Author, we offer a range of services and facilities to make your event perfect. We have a team of highly talented chefs to provide exquisite contemporary cuisine, an event co-ordinator to help take care of all the details, LED lighting for those finishing touches, and a PA system for any speeches you’d like to  deliver.

We also have a trusted network of suppliers who can provide anything you could wish for that we don’t already have.

Will there be help to set up our equipment?

Each awards event room is equipped with a build in DAD PA system, coloured LED lighting and funky electronic signage but for any other requirement, your Event Co-Ordinator will be able to help, along with our AV Specialist.

Will my guests have Wi-Fi?

Yes, all rooms come with complimentary Wi-Fi with the capability of 1100mb both up and down.

Is there somewhere for our guests to leave their coats?

We do have a cloakroom available for coats and bags.
